About
The Churchill Chronicle is a student-run magazine of Sir Winston Churchill High School in Calgary, Alberta.
Philosophy
The Churchill Chronicle is dedicated to informing, entertaining, and representing the Churchill community. As a team of competent and zealous students, we strive to foster a sense of school community and spirit by acting as a voice and mode of expression for the student body.
History
The Churchill Chronicle began in the 2011–2012 school year as a student-run newspaper club called The Churchillian. Early issues were even featured on the official school website.
In the following year, the club rebranded as The Churchill Chronicle, publishing student writing and artwork on a WordPress site across a wide range of topics.
During the 2018–2019 school year, the Chronicle began transitioning from a newspaper to a full magazine after the friendly people at Little Rock Printing of Inglewood offered funding to support printed editions.
Since then, the Chronicle has continued to evolve. Today, we publish four editions each school year, available both online (on this website) and in print. Physical copies can often be found in the school office, showcasing the ongoing creativity and dedication of our student contributors.
